Energizer Offers 'Cash' Back Through Ibotta

This holiday season, Energizer Holdings leveraged Ibotta for a national incentive plugging its Energizer lights, with several account-specific activations, including a unique endcap at Walmart.The endcap stocked a variety of Energizer lights in account-specific shelf trays that promoted the national “Get Cash Back” Ibotta offer with purchase of any Energizer light product. The offer first ran from Oct. 1 to Nov. 30, 2021, in two waves to incentivize repeat purchases. Shoppers received $2 cash back with the first purchase, and once they redeemed the offer could claim another $1.50 cash back with a second purchase.The national Energizer lights promotion then relaunched on Nov. 30, 2021, running through Jan. 7 again in two waves: one dangling $3 and one $2. Shoppers were limited to two redemptions per trip, and also received a bonus $1 off if they redeemed the offer twice from October 1 to 15.In December, Energizer also for the first time participated in Ibotta's Holiday Essentials program, and got a plug for Energizer lights in a Dec. 1 email blast along with other offers. Energizer also ran a holiday themed banner ad within the Ibotta app’s grocery tab promoting its Energizer lights cash back offer. The offer landing page also promoted Energizer's new Energizer Go Rewards program, which launched in 2021 and lets shoppers earn points for qualifying Energizer batteries, lights or chargers purchases and redeem for rewards.Path to Purchase Institute at Harris Teeter in January also spotted an example of national P-O-P support for Energizer’s typical holiday battery offer: a floorstand display merchandising Energizer batteries and offering “Get $5 Back.” Running Oct. 1, 2021, through Feb. 28, the national promotion offers Energizer Go Rewards members $5 back with purchase of $15 worth of batteries. Purchases made at Walmart, Walgreens and The Home Depot are redeemable for store gift cards while those made elsewhere earn Visa Prepaid or Uber Eats gift cards, or PayPal or Venmo account transfers. Lowe's purchases are not eligible.
