Body by TPH Launches at Walmart

Two years after launching hair care brand TPH by Taraji at Target, actress Taraji P. Henson teamed with Walmart to launch an exclusive body care brand extension this spring.Body by TPH rolled out to Walmart.com and the mass merchant's stores in April, encompassing 13 SKUs, including a "Bubble Or Nothin" oatmeal bubble bath, an in-shower body lotion, a body oil moisturizer, a body cream with niacinamide and avocado oil, and aromatherapy candles. Ranging from $8.97 to $11.97 in price, the line comprises three collections:"Cleanse + Condition Coalition" SKUs have cream-colored packaging and are meant to help kick off the day. "Skin Stylers" products have beige-colored packaging and can be used throughout the day. "Restoration Rituals" items, in dark-brown colored packaging, aim to help indulge and decompress at the end of the day. Multiple updates from TPH by Taraji plugged the line and its exclusivity at Walmart. Henson starred in a live shopping event via Walmart.com/Live and TalkShop.Live on April 16 where she plugged her hair care brand, introduced Body by TPH and divulged beauty tips and tricks. Sponsored product ads throughout Walmart.com continue to promote the new body care line. Body by TPH's release aligns with the self-care ethos Henson's been promoting in recent years. She spent years making small batches of homemade scalp mixes in her kitchen before finally creating hair care brand TPH by Taraji in 2020, according to a media release, with the help of beauty incubator Maesa. The line was initially a Target exclusive, but has since rolled out nationally to retailers including Walmart and CVS. “When we thought about taking care of self, I wanted to go from scalp to toe,” Henson told WWD Beauty. “I always had that vision in mind. We wanted to give spotlight to products at an affordable price, luxurious-looking packaging, and spa-like scents to feel like you’re in a spa."Ceating a home spa has never been more needed, according to Henson. "People are a little traumatized after the pandemic," she told WWD. "They’re afraid, and they’re not all going to the places they would normally go. We wanted to bring luxurious products to those people at an affordable price and with an emphasis on self care.”
