The Body Shop Debuts a Holiday Advent Calendar-Inspired Pop-Up
The Body Shop, a Natura & Co beauty brand, has opened an “Advent of Change” pop-up shop in Toronto to celebrate “purposeful gift-giving” this holiday season, according to a media release.
Located in the heart of the city's Union Station, the experiential and educational shop resembles a larger-than-life advent calendar. It is open to the public from Nov. 6-30.
Throughout the space, shoppers can learn about the brand's Community Fair Trade cosmetics program, which sources ingredients and accessories from around the world, and provides fair wages and working conditions to its partners, per the release.
The space offers a “Stories of Change” wall, which invites shoppers to “peel and reveal” stories behind each product, connecting them with the farmers, artisans and makers that helped create The Body Shop’s holiday collection this year.

The pop-up also features product giveaways and daily offers that are unveiled at 12:25 p.m. each day — a nod to Christmas Day — via the interactive advent and its conveyor belt. Once the clock strikes 12:25 p.m., shoppers can press the advent wall's big red button to activate the advent calendar and receive full-size products. Visitors can also scan the wall's QR code for an exclusive one-day only offer redeemable at The Body Shop stores across Canada.
"At a time when many Canadians are watching their spending, we're excited to present a festive experience that not only brings joy to those who shop with us but helps them feel good about the money they spend by giving back to communities of people around the world," Hilary Lloyd, vice president of brand and activism, The Body Shop North America, said in the release. "Gifting is a simple gesture, yet it has the power to spark positive change."
Select gifts from the beauty retailer's holiday collection, as well as its popular advent calendars and limited-edition seasonal body care ranges (e.g., “Cherries and Cheer” and “Pears and Share”) will be available to shop at the Union Station pop-up in the Front Street Promenade. Gifts include stocking stuffers, skincare routines, body care favorite, among others, ranging in price from $10-$140.
Shoppers can also sign up for text alerts to be notified of each daily offer drop.
