7-Eleven Canada Delivers ‘Game Time Anytime’

7-Eleven Canada is promoting its 7Now delivery and in-store pick up service with a "Game Time Anytime" campaign and sweepstakes geared toward hockey fans and video game enthusiasts.A 30-second Game Time Anytime video (see below) posted to the retailer's YouTube channel and website shows couples either watching hockey or playing video games and using the 7Now mobile app to order snacks without interrupting their entertainment. The spot also promotes a corresponding sweeps awarding eight winner with a $2,000 prepaid Visa card and a $500 Ticketmaster gift card meant to fund a road trip to a hockey game or esports event.Shoppers automatically enter the sweeps from Nov. 3 through Jan. 4, 2022, by making a purchase via 7Now or the 7Rewards loyalty program through the 7-Eleven app. Five additional entries are awarded for purchasing select items including pizza, wings, coffee and proprietary Slurpee drinks. Recuts of the 30-second video on YouTube plug bonus entries for purchasing SKUs from Coca-Cola Co. and Rockstar Energy, the latter touting a new Rockstar Revolt strawberry SKU available exclusively at 7-Eleven.A supporting web page (7-eleven.ca/gametimeanytime) also hosts a video depicting a media personality from Bell Media's digital news site BarDown surprising 7-Eleven shoppers with an in-store pop quiz to promote the sweeps. A home page carousel ad and splash page link to the promotional page. Covers on the c-store chain's Facebook and YouTube pages, as well as Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram updates also plug the sweeps.7-Eleven Canada is also employing the Game Time Anytime tagline when activating its sponsorship of a series of tournaments on esports platform Pepper. The retailer sponsored a competition for Riot Games’ Valorant Oct. 30-31, Respawn Entertainment’s Apex Legends Nov. 13-14 and Arc System Works’ Guilty Gear on Dec. 4. Each tournament had a $2,000 prize pool. The retailer has promoted the tournaments with Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram updates.
