Path to Purchase Institute members receive access to regularly updated retail profiles, which can be accessed here. Recent updates include Ahold Delhaize's sale of its FreshDirect banner, and several U.K. retailers getting into the holiday spirit with humorous and heartfelt ads, top toys lists, inclusive offerings and more.
U.K. Retailers Get Festive
P2PI's newest profiles may be an ocean away, but they're being maintained often, including with news about their holiday promotions, including:
- Asda: The grocer gets Buble — literally, with singer Michael Buble starring in its Christmas adverts. Asda also has completed its 2 billion pound acquisition of EG Group's U.K. business, which will build its convenience and food service footprint.
- Boots: The retailer's holiday campaign is "Thank you, Santa," with an ad that reminds viewers that they can find a present for anyone and everyone at Boots. The retailer also has a shoppable online gift guide and a chosen Christmas charity partner.
- Tesco: The retailer has a new line of holiday decorations and gift wrap that has an inclusive look. Tesco also released its list of top toys for the season.
Walmart and NBCUniversal are collaborating on shoppable TV. During ads, viewers of Bravo's "Below Deck Mediterranean" will be able to use their remotes to navigate an interactive carousel where they can buy products featured on the show.
Prime members can sign up for an additional service on Amazon: One Medical. The feature costs $9 a month or $99 a year, and gives access to same- and next-day virtual and in-office care. Family members can be added to the plan for an additional fee.
The retailer has teamed with electronics company Vizio on content that has integrated QR codes that are a quick scan away from a Shop the Look page.
Ahold Delhaize USA revealed plans to sell its FreshDirect business to grocery delivery service Getir. This gives the grocery chain more bandwidth to focus on its omnichannel strategy.
