Hershey Works With the Grinch for Holiday Mischief
The Hershey Co. has partnered withDr. Seuss Enterprises, the children's entertainment company committed to maintaining author Theodor Seuss Geisel's legacy and promoting education, for a holiday campaign with the Grinch.
In the first collaboration between two iconic brands, Hershey recently launched limited-edition milk chocolate Hershey's Kisses with Grinch-themed foils, a nod to yet another thing the Grinch “stole” and made their own this year. Available exclusively during the holiday season, the new treats span 10 different candy foils including the Grinch's “up-to-something smirk,” classic Grinch sayings and Max's floppy ears, according to the Hershey.
"The Hershey's Kisses brand and Dr. Seuss's 'The Grinch' joined forces to create a partnership that reflects all that the holidays have to offer — excitement, surprise, and sweetness," said Joe Gibilisco, manager of holiday for Hershey, in a recent media release. "That's where the Hershey's Kisses milk chocolates with Grinch foils come in."
From Nov. 30 through Dec. 8, the duo encouraged consumers and fans of the Grinch to “get Grinched” by visiting Hershey’s Instagram or Twitter accounts and entering to win free bags of the sweets. To enter, users were invited to reply or comment #GrinchKisses and #Sweepstakes on the designated Grinch updates.
In addition, the duo also created an immersive Grinch-themed experience at Hershey's Chocolate World attractions in Hershey, Pennsylvania; New York; and Las Vegas. The attractions are decked out in festive decor and includes plenty of photo opportunities and a candy machine stuffed with the new Grinch-themed Hershey's Kisses. The festivities will run through the holiday season.
"The Grinch always has something up his sleeve, and this year it's a seriously fun collaboration with the Hershey's Kisses brand," said Susan Brandt, president of Dr. Seuss Enterprises, in the release. "In celebration of the first-ever partnership between our two iconic brands, we wanted to introduce a little holiday Grinch-y mischief and let our fans get in on the fun."
