PepsiCo stakes out multiple pages in free-standing inserts this week with a sweeps for Quaker granola bars and a $10 rebate offer on diet colas. A full-page FSI for Quaker Oats Chewy granola bars touts a sweepstakes to win a $5,000 "Cool-for-School" shopping spree. Online entry through Sept. 10 is at www.quakeraday.com.Meanwhile, a full-page FSI announces $10 rebates on all varieties of Pepsi diet colas. Purchases of two 24-packs, four 12-packs, or twelve 2-liters must be made by July 23, with rebate requests postmarked by Aug. 6. Retailers supporting the promotion include CVS and Walgreens, which devote promiment panels on the back pages of circulars. In other FSI activity:Unilever's Suave runs a spread dangling five free products to the first 15,000 people who complete a beauty questionnaire at www.suave.com. Consumers pay for shipping and handling of Suave Professionals Humectant Shampoo, Professionals Volumizing Gel, Skin Therapy Natural Oatmeal moisturizer, Cocoa & Shea Butter body wash, and Suave invisible solid deodorant. (Note: The promotion proved so popular that all available products were gone the day after the FSI dropped, but latecomers could fill out the survey to receive personalized product recommendations from Suave beauty experts.) A full-page FSI for Kodak Zoom one-time-use cameras promotes special packages containing free movie passes good for one admission up to $6.50. Nestle Purina's Pro Plan pet food runs a full page with a panel touting the company's creation and support of Rally to Rescue, a fundraising project to benefit pet rescue organizations across the country. Primary funding for the project is provided by sales of pet collars and wristbands sold at www.rallytorescue.com. The company's cause marketing efforts also find a home this week at A&P, with select stores offering special shopping lists with items needed by local shelters. (See Related Articles.) 3M repeats an offer for $3 off the combined purchase of Disney's Pooh's Heffalump Movie on video and Nexcare Tattoo Waterproof Bandages. The offer also ran on June 12. Entry is at www.ronzoni.com, where visitors are encouraged to submit their favorite original past recipe.Gillette teams with Safeway's Dominick's to offer a free case of Safeway Select water with purchase of two Oral-B CrossAction, CrossAction Vitalizer, Advantage Artica single packs or two Indicator twin packs.
