Southeastern Grocers' Winn-Dixie and Bi-Lo are discounting seasonal products and football-watching party supplies during a "Fall Favorites" sale.In stores, dump bins, endcap displays and shelf trays depicting autumn leaves tout deals on generic stoneware plates along with products from Hostess Brands, Hormel Foods' Skippy, Kimberly-Clark's Viva, PepsiCo's Diet Mountain Dew, Snyder's of Hanover's Snyder's and other brands. Regular circular features throughout September and October use the theme to promote other products such as pumpkins, cinnamon brooms, private label Prestige ice cream, J.M. Smucker Co.'s Hungry Jack pumpkin spice pancake and waffle mix, and fall varieties of MillerCoors' Leinenkugel's and Blue Moon beers.A special four-page Fall Favorites circular distributed in stores from Sept. 21 to Oct. 4 included a page of "big game" recipes from Bush Brothers & Co. The circular also offered deals on products included in the recipes from manufacturers such as McCormick & Co., Green Valley Foods, Campbell Soup Co., Mission Foods and Del Monte Foods. Carousel ads on chain home pages and an ad in a Sept. 21 email linked to a digital version of the circular and spotlighted a limited-edition "Grandma's Pumpkin Pie" flavor of Prestige ice cream.Football party supplies from brands including PepsiCo's Gatorade, Dr Pepper Snapple Group's Dr Pepper, Reynolds Consumer Products' Hefty, Clorox Co.'s Kingsford, Topco Holdings' CharKing and Truco Enterprises' On the Border are also stocked on in-line displays along the store's perimeter beneath headers using a "Game Day" message. The same theme began appearing in circular features in August to spotlight products from those brands and others such as Mondelez International's Ritz, Kraft Heinz Co.'s Velveeta, Georgia-Pacific's Dixie, Schwan's Consumer Brands' Red Baron, private label Chek and ConAgra Foods' Ro-Tel. Ads in multiple emails use the theme to link to digital circulars.In other seasonal activity, the retailer is merchandising Halloween candy on in-line displays beneath generic "Happy Halloween" headers with nearby spectaculars spotlighting pumpkins and other decorative items. The same imagery appears in circular features promoting generic seasonal products along with trick-or-treating friendly SKUs from PepsiCo, Hershey Co., Nestle and Tootsie Roll Industries.
