Southeastern Grocers' Winn-Dixie and Bi-Lo chains recognized the post-holiday return to school by running a bulk-purchase incentive activating General Mills' evergreen Box Tops for Education cause platform. In stores, endcaps merchandising Honey Nut Cheerios and Lucky Charms were outfitted with headers and shelf signs offering 20 eBoxTops credits with purchase of three eligible SKUs from Jan. 4-10. Shoppers who made a qualifying purchase received a receipt code redeemable through the chain's website or mobile application. Other shelf signs also offered loyalty cardholders a BOGO deal on the cereals.Circular features running Jan. 4 plugged both incentives along with other cardholder deals on Mills brands including Cascadian Farm, Betty Crocker, Totino's and Pillsbury. Carousel ads on chain home pages supported the eBoxTops program. The retailer employed similar bulk-purchase incentives during the 2015 and 2016 back-to-school seasons. In related activity, themed SmartSource shelf talkers plugged a national incentive from RB's Lysol promising 100 Bonus Box Tops with purchase of five SKUs from the brand.
