Instacart is helping retailers get a real-time understanding of in-store shopper activity.

The company in a recent blog post announced a partnership with NVIDIA to pair AI in the store with AI in the cloud, yielding personalized experiences.

Now when a retailer deploys one of Instacart's Caper Carts, it’s not just capturing data. It’s processing what's happening in the aisle in real time, directly on the cart.

That includes what's in a shopper’s basket, and precisely where they are in the physical store.

The in-store activity is connected to retailers' e-commerce systems, creating a more complete view of consumer activity across the physical store and online, according to the Instacart blog post.

The result?

For retailers: Larger baskets, retail media revenue, reduced shrink and fewer out-of-stocks.

For shoppers: Relevant recommendations, timely savings, fewer missed essentials, and a more fun, intuitive shopping experience.
