Sheetz Introduces 'Truck Bed Sessionz' Concert Series

The convenience chain's pop-up events kicked off with an emerging country artist at a store in Bethel Park, Pennsylvania. They will travel to other locations through September.

Sheetz, a Mid-Atlantic convenience store chain, EV charging hub and restaurant, has kicked off a music event series, dubbed "Truck Bed Sessionz," that will travel to at least two additional stores in September.

The first outdoor pop-up experience of the series was held on Aug. 23 at a store in Bethel Park, Pennsylvania, featuring a surprise 60-minute performance by rising country music artist Ian Munsick, exclusive giveaways and free merchandise in the parking lot.

"Truck Bed Sessionz is our way of honoring the road warriors who make up the heart of the Sheetz community – it's a celebration of the adventurous spirit that drives our customers," Ryan Sheetz, executive vice president of marketing and supply chain, said in a statement. "We're bringing the excitement of live music to unexpected places, creating those unique moments that turn a simple stop into a cultural experience."

Our first Truck Bed Session. You kinda had to be there. Luckily, we might be doing this again.

Building on the success of the first event, Sheetz is preparing to host more Truck Bed Sessionz, with performances by “notable artists,” across its locations in September. The exact dates and locations of these events are being kept under wraps to maintain the element of surprise for Sheetz's customers.

Steve Red, co-chief creative officer at Red Tettemer O'Connell and Partners, the advertising agency behind the event, added, "With Truck Bed Sessionz, we wanted to create a cultural touchpoint that resonated with customers. By blending the freedom of the open road with the energy of live music, Sheetz is doubling down on its positioning as a destination rather than a ‘pit stop.’"

Altoona, Pennsylvania-based Sheetz currently operates 679 store locations across its home state, North Carolina, Virginia, West Virginia, Ohio, Maryland and, as of Aug. 27, Michigan. Sheetz has said it plans to open 50 or more stores in the state in the next few years.
