Safeway is promoting healthy lifestyles through a chain-wide "Living Well, Feeling Great" incentive offer.Shoppers who spend $30 on products from brands including Procter & Gamble's Crest and Pantene, Kraft Foods' South Beach Diet, PepsiCo's Dannon and Diet Pepsi and Kellogg Co.'s Special K receive a $10 coupon for a future purchase. Participating items are flagged with special shelf signs and also get promoted via sampling events. Some vendors also provided multi-brand pallet displays.Coupons are distributed at checkout. The offer is featured in April 20th circulars and runs through May 14.Elsewhere at Safeway, the company: signed a two-year joint-marketing agreement with Major League Baseball's Washington Nationals this month. The deal allows Safeway to run in-stadium promotions, advertise in team-controlled media and offer discount tickets to frequent-shopper cardholders. Safeway has 177 stores serving the team's Maryland/Virginia/DC fan base.reported revenue of $56.1 billion, an increase of 7.2%, in fiscal 2005 (ended 12/31/05). Comparable-store sales increased 5.9%.
