Walgreens teamed up with experiential retailer Camp for a summer-themed collaboration across the U.S. before back-to-school season gets completely underway. The collaboration aims to educate kids about the importance of sun safety with a series of fun family friendly activities.

The partners are giving away free, limited-edition “Ultimate Beach Day Bundles” comprising beach toys, a summer activity book and select Walgreens store health and wellness essentials — to consumers who reserve theirs via a dedicated promotional page within Camp’s website, while supplies last.

From Aug. 5-9, consumers can pick up their bundles at any of Camp’s nine retail locations in New Jersey, California, New York, Massachusetts and Texas. One recipient will additionally receive a grand prize in their bundle awarding an “Ultimate Beach Day Vacation” for one family, including a four-night stay at The Westin Reserva Conchal, an all-inclusive golf resort & spa in Costa Rica.

The bundles include:

  • Walgreens Sport SPF 50, sunburn relief gel, flexible fabric adhesive bandages and vitamin C gummies.
  • A Walgreens x Camp original activity book with crayons.
  • A beach shovel, pail and whale sand mold.

In addition to the free bundles, Walgreens and Camp are inviting the public to an “Ultimate Beach Day” experience for families on Aug. 11 in New York, at Domino Park in Brooklyn. Families can register for the event via the aforementioned web page. The event will turn the park into a “beach haven for families,” according to a news release. Attendees can also partake in:

  • A treasure hunt to find hidden coins in the sand among larger-than-life sand sculpture.
  • Field day games like relay races, beach ball games and crab walk challenges.
  • DIY bucket hat coloring and photo frame decorating with seashells, under the shade.
  • A competition to see how fast kids can put their sunscreen on.

“It’s important to educate families about sun safety and how it’s not only easy, but also can be fun,” said Luke Rauch, senior vice president and chief merchandising officer at Walgreens, in the release. “This collaboration shows how we continue to be there for our customers throughout their health and wellness journeys with Walgreens brand products that are backed by a 100% satisfaction guarantee and recommended by Walgreens pharmacists.”

In addition, Walgreens is offering a "buy one, get one 50% off" deal on select Walgreens brand health and wellness products both in-store and online, throughout July and August.
