Introductions and Stepping Into 2025
New year, new role, new opportunities: It’s hard to kick off January in a better spot.
I’m certainly starting off the year with a lot to feel fortunate about. It’s been just over a month since I joined the Path to Purchase Institute as Editorial Director. While I’m new to the team, I’ve been with our parent company, EnsembleIQ, for five years as an editor at Consumer Goods Technology.
I’ve covered retail, CPG and technology for more than 20 years through a range of media outlets, including spending 15 years in editorial roles at TWICE, a business media brand that also publishes the CES Daily. (Though this is the first year I’ll attend CES for P2PI, it’s my 17th show.)
Retail is even a bit in my blood: My family owned a carpet store on Main Street in Smithtown, New York, and my earliest memories include dinnertime tales of the daily trials/triumphs in serving customers. Now I live in Warwick, New York, with my husband, two sons and our dog, where I have access to a strong mix of independent and mass retail experiences.
I’ve had the privilege of embedding myself in the consumer goods industry to learn how leaders at some of the world’s largest companies are embracing today’s tech challenges and opportunities, and I’m excited to immerse myself more deeply into commerce marketing.
Most importantly, I’ve joined a tremendous team. Deeply experienced, curious and hungry to serve P2PI’s members and the broader industry, we’re energized for the year ahead. I’m thrilled to work with them to continue to grow P2PI’s relevance, and we’ve begun the hard work to serve our audience in new and timely ways.
Leading P2PI’s editorial is an honor. Like most brands, we know evolving is critical to success, and the only way to accomplish this is to understand your needs and how they’ve changed. I urge you to share your feedback, opinions, and ideas at any time at ljohnston@ensembleiq.com. Whether it’s good or bad, I always want to hear from you.
