Target is promoting affordable pharmacy prices through an “Ask Us” campaign that plays out around the store. The mass merchant is using ceiling signs at entrances and in power aisles to invite shoppers to ask a store pharmacist how they can “save with $4 generics.” The signs also promote the chain's “easy prescription transfers” and “convenient auto refill” services.Elsewhere, endcap side panels promote the $4 generic prescription drugs and encourage shoppers to approach pharmacists with questions. Door clings reinforce the message. In other marketing activity, Target this month introduced a limited-edition line of women's apparel by designer Anna Sui that is "inspired" by the styles found in the CW Network's Gossip Girl series. The collection includes jackets, sweaters, blouses, cropped pants and skirts ranging from $19.99 to $149.99. Signs atop apparel racks carry images of the series' cast and promote “Anna Sui at prices to gossip about.” The line was introduced Sept. 13, one day before Gossip Girl's third-season premiere, and will be available in select stores until Oct. 17. Circular features and print ads in consumer magazines support. The Anna Sui line is the second installment in "Designer Collaborations," a limited-time merchandising program that "features well-established designers who draw inspiration from a collaborative partner, muse or creative element," according to a company press release. Launched last spring, the program's first line contained rock music-inspired women's apparel from Alexander McQueen under a McQ label.
