Purina, Del Monte Pamper Pet Owners

Nestle Purina is offering an easy pick-me-up to pet owners who feel guilty about leaving their furry friends home alone during the day: a week-long vacation for the whole family, including the dog or cat. Purina's "Pack Your Pet Family Vacation" sweeps will award one seven-day trip for a family of four and one pet to anywhere in the continental U.S., along with a year's supply of pet products. Entry is at purina.com or via tearpads at retail through July 15. Ten first-place winners will receive "Pets on the Go" travel kits filled with handy items for traveling with cats or dogs. Twenty-five second-place winners score a year's supply of Purina pet products. Meijer dedicated feature space to the sweeps in its May 23 circular, along with an offer for a free 18-ounce bag of Purina Dog Chow, Puppy Chow or Little Ones with a one-hour photo processing order. Meanwhile, Del Monte Pet Products partners with the American Humane Association for a "Pets & Pals Photo Contest" awarding a $10,000 grand prize. Consumers mail in photographs of themselves with their pet; a panel of judges will select finalists, which will be posted online in August for public voting. Winners in five categories will receive a Sony digital camera and a six-month supply of dog or cat food and treats. Entry is through July 15. A supporting FSI dropped May 23. Shaw's Rewards Card program members are automatically entered into the drawing (and receive a free dog collar) with the purchase of three cans of Kibbles 'n Bits and one bag of Chew Lotta. The campaign was featured in Shaw's May 16 circular. And Winn-Dixie brings its Pet Rewards loyalty program into the fold. Members who collect 50 points from pet product purchases from May 12 to June 21 receive a $5 discount off their next shopping trip between June 23 and July 6. The offer was featured in the chain's circular.
