Experiential retailer Camp has introduced its latest interactive experience, this time inviting consumers to join La Familia Madrigal from "Encanto," Walt Disney Animation Studios' popular 2021 film, in New York beginning Oct. 8.

Created in collaboration with Disney, the location spans 6,000 square feet. Behind Camp’s signature "magic door," guests can experience:

  • The voices of Stephanie Beatriz (Mirabel), Maria Cecilia Botero (Abuela Alma), which welcome guests, as well as the voices of John Leguizamo (Bruno) and Ravi Cabot-Conyers (Antonio) throughout the experience.
  • An hour-long visit to the Madrigals' candlelit Casita, the family’s home and location of the film.
  • Antonio's rainforest, where guests can climb through Isabela's room, which is filled with flowers and ride down a slide into the Courtyard.
  • Interactive spaces dedicated to scenes from the film and unique to this Camp experience, including Luisa and Pepa's never-before-seen bedrooms and Cousin Dolores' soundscape door.
  • Shopping in the Encanto town square (La Placita) for exclusive, bespoke and customizable character-based clothing, books and colorful felt jewelry all displayed in a series of merchant carts.
  • Live counselor-led singalongs to the film's popular tunes like "We Don't Talk About Bruno" and "Surface Pressure" throughout the show.
  • A family photo op meant to serve as a keepsake of their visit.

Disney Encanto x Camp is located at the retailer’s New York flagship store. Tickets, which are limited, are required for entry and available at Camp.com/DisneyEncanto.

"In 2018, we opened our first store right here at 110 5th Avenue and have since built an incredible community across the country,” said Ben Kaufman, Camp co-founder and CEO, in a news release. “It is a privilege to have created a show with such a strong sense of family and identity, behind our very own Magic Door."

Disney Encanto x Camp is also offering an exclusive capsule collection, inspired by the vibrancy of the film, available for purchase via a dedicated e-commerce shop within Camp.com and at the flagship store. The collection includes Isabela- and Mirabel-inspired twirl skirts and matching embellished sweatshirts, character tees, hats and bags that can be customized with chain stitching, colorful felt patches and whimsical rickrack trimmings.

"Bringing together Disney's extraordinary storytelling and immersive retail experiences allows us to dream bigger and create special offerings for families," said Hubert Liu, SVP, business planning and franchise development, Disney consumer products, games and publishing, in the release. "Our continued collaboration with Camp is an exciting example of our commitment to engaging with our fans in new ways."

Disney Encanto x Camp will be in New York for a limited time before moving to another Camp location, according to the company.

Earlier this year, Camp joined forces with global apparel retailer H&M to add an interactive style experience at Camp’s Columbus Circle store in New York.

It also opened its first flagship store in Los Angeles as part of its national expansion. Camp partnered with Mattel’s Barbie and national RV rental company RVshare to create experiences “designed specifically for the L.A. community,” including an in-store Barbie-themed disco cabin and an interactive RV campsite.
