Wells Lamont Glove Display Gets Stamp of Approval from George Strait

A line of western wear gloves, bearing the signature of country music star George Strait, is being marketed by Wells Lamont on a versatile display that can be used by retailers in three different configurations.The freestanding floor unit features a base that holds three separate corrugated bins. These attach with plastic hooks to a backing that rises from the base. Each bin holds one dozen pairs of "Strait's Own" gloves.A four-color header with the Wells Lamont logo features a picture of George Strait. The unit is 14 inches wide by 67 inches high by 24 inches deep.Retailers preferring to market the gloves from wire racks on their endcap displays can simply order the bins and header.The bins use the same plastic hooks to attach to the racks and, as with the freestanding unit, the header simply slides into place at the top. This option measures approximately 14 inches wide by 55 inches high by 8 inches deep.When the units sell down, one of the bins may be used as a countertop unit with the header. This configuration measures approximately 14 inches wide by 28 inches high by 8 inches deep."This display is unique in that it can be ordered in two different versions, and either one can be converted to a counter unit," says Meg Schultz, marketing communications manager for Niles, Ill.based Wells Lamont.The Strait's Own line features four men's grain leather styles that include two unique materials: a heavyweight goatskin fencing glove ($24.99) and a durable, lightweight cabretta roper with palm patch ($22.99). A classic grain cowhide roper ($17.99) and a snap-back grain cowhide glove ($17.99) are also in the line.Retailers receive the units free of charge with a minimum order of three dozen pairs of gloves.The new products are being featured in ads on national radio and on television in selected western markets.
