How Funko Exclusives Popped Up at Target
What’s new: Target is selling 14 exclusive Funko Pop! figures during its annual “Target Con” campaign.
What we saw: A pallet display in stores stocks the Target Con 2025 figures, which depict licensed characters from Disney’s "Star Wars," Universal Pictures’ "Jurassic Park," Sanrio’s Hello Kitty and Friends, and Mattel’s He-Man. The SKUs range from $10.04 to $27.99 and arrived in stores and on Target.com Feb. 23.
Additional support: Target revealed the first five exclusives on a campaign page within Target.com on Jan. 24 and introduced more each week leading up to the release. Funko also plugged Target Con across Facebook, Instagram and X.
More context: Funko Target Con has been running annually since 2019, building buzz and trips with exclusive limited-edition collectibles. Target also partners with Funko on Marvel Studio Selects, dropping new and exclusive licensed collectibles on the last Monday of the month. Recent releases have included an 8-bit Iron Man figure and three retro-style figures tied to the Feb. 12 theatrical release of “Captain America: Brave New World.”
Funko gave Target a pair of exclusive collectibles last year as part of the retailer’s major push to become the “ultimate fan destination” for Universal Pictures’ “Wicked,” while a set of exclusive figures were showcased in stores during Disney’s 100th anniversary celebration.
