How Brands, Content Creators Helped Circle K Give Away $500K
What’s new: Circle K recently wrapped a sweepstakes that awarded grand prizes of $100,000 to five winners.
Where shoppers get value: Members of the retailer’s Inner Circle loyalty program entered from March 5 to May 6 through a promotional page within CircleK.com. Members could earn 10 additional entries by making four transactions during the campaign or by buying three PepsiCo products in a single purchase. Nonmembers could enter by uploading a store receipt and subscribing to receive promotional emails from the chain. The sweeps also awarded 200 winners (25 each week) a $500 store gift card.
Marketing support: Circle K plugged the sweeps across Facebook and Instagram with organic posts and paid partnerships with content creators.
Related activity: Circle K regularly uses sweeps to encourage trips. The chain partnered with AVX Concessions’ 1UP Candy for a sweeps awarding $10,000 each week from Jan. 10 to May 5. Shoppers entered by uploading a purchase receipt or scanning a QR code on the brand’s floorstands at Circle K. Sweeppea administered the sweeps. Circle K and 1UP used Facebook updates to plug the sweeps and the brand’s January launch at the retailer.
Circle K also partnered with Keurig Dr Pepper’s Ghost in March for a sweeps plugging an exclusive Strawbango strawberry, mango and citrus flavored energy drink.
