Circle K stores in Arizona have lined up beverage brands to help activate the chain's sponsorship of an annual regional music festival. Stores in the state are promoting the seventh-annual Circle K Tempe Music Festival by offering ticket discounts in conjunction with brands that are co-sponsoring the April 3-4 event. Communicated on fuel pump toppers and cooler clings, the ticket specials include: a buy-one-get-one-free offer on general admission tickets with purchase of an 18-pack of Anheuser-Busch's Budweiser, Bud Light or Michelob Ultra or a 12-pack of Grupo Modelo's Corona. $10 off the ticket price with purchase of a 20-pack of Coca-Cola or Dr Pepper Snapple Group's Dr Pepper. $5 off a ticket with purchase of two Red Bull or Icelandic Glacial Water SKUs.Shoppers bring store receipts to the festival's box office to redeem the offers. Circle K's Arizona division serves as title sponsor for the annual rock music festival.In addition, Circle K teams with fellow sponsor and Phoenix-based radio station Peak 98.7 FM (owned by Bonneville International) to host a sweepstakes benefiting the United Cerebral Palsy Foundation. Shoppers who donate $1 to the charity at checkout receive an entry form for the sweeps, which awards backstage passes for the festival to five winners. One of the winners will be selected at the festival to win a Harley Davidson motorcycle. Entry runs through March 30.Alimentation Couche-Tard, Laval, Quebec, operates about 3,350 company-owned and franchised Circle K stores in 33 states. Sales in third-quarter 2009 (ended Feb. 1) were $3.9 billion, a 14.8% drop from the previous year. Merchandise and service revenues from U.S. operations decreased by 0.1%, while same-store merchandise sales increased 0.5%. During the quarter, Couche-Tard remodeled 54 stores under its ongoing "Impact" initiative, which has spruced up 62% of all company-operated stores since it launched in 1998. In other news, Circle K recently reached a franchise agreement with Jump Oil Co. to convert 45 stores in Missouri to the Circle K brand.
