Best Buy Levels Up In-Store Experience to Celebrate Pokemon

Best Buy celebrated Pokemon's 30th anniversary with in-store experiences and products.
On Saturday, Feb. 28, select Best Buy locations stocked the newest trading card packs from the Japanese franchise, which also includes toys and collectibles, video games and the mobile Pokemon Go game.
Select stores also held Trade & Play events, which included:
- Hands-on gameplay: Attendees could trial the newest Pokemon titles, including Pokemon Legends: Z-A on Nintendo Switch 2.
- Trading card fun: Fans could meet and trade cards to level up their collections; event leaders also shared tips for newbies.
- Giveaways: To celebrate three decades of Pokemon, Best Buy gave away three-card fun packs, Bandai Pikachu Model Kits and stickers.

Participating stores also set up expanded Pokemon displays, featuring popular characters like Pikachu and Charizard.
The retailer has held Pokemon events in the past, including bringing back PokeStops as part of Niantic's Pokemon Go game, where fans could buy and trade game cards, explore new product drops and more.
