Julie Fiorini
Senior Director, Business Development
Avid Marketing Group
What are your main job responsibilities?
Fiorini: As the lead for Avid Marketing Group's (AMG) business development efforts, I partner with CPG brands to uncover opportunities to strengthen and streamline shopper and trade marketing initiatives. Our agency is proud to offer solutions and strategies that deliver measurable business results. My role focuses on building strong client relationships, understanding each brand's unique objectives and connecting them with the right mix of strategic thinking, activation expertise and data-driven solutions to bring programs to life.
How are you helping clients work through uncertain economic times to continue winning with shoppers?
Fiorini: Today, every marketing dollar has to work harder. AMG is helping clients focus on programs that are measurable, flexible and built around data-driven recommendations. By bringing together strategy, retail expertise, execution and performance analytics in one place, AMG helps brands make smarter decisions, optimize investments faster and identify what's truly driving incremental growth.
What new or unique marketing tactic are you using that you plan to keep in your toolbox for the future?
Fiorini: We've been focused on using data as the foundation for smarter shopper marketing strategies. While this may not be new, AMG has been hyper-focused on elevating how data translates into investment priorities for our clients. Through a shopper marketing intelligence platform, we aggregate performance data from more than 20 sources to provide a holistic view of how campaigns are doing across promotions, discounts, apps, sweepstakes and other retailer tactics. Having this connected view allows us to identify insights faster, optimize programs more effectively and help brands make more informed decisions about where to invest their shopper marketing dollars.
What is the best career advice you've received?
Fiorini: The best partnerships are built by being genuine. Technology makes it easier than ever to connect, but nothing replaces authentic human relationships based on commonalities and a real understanding of the other person's business needs, challenges and priorities.
What is a memorable aha moment in your career?
Fiorini: Becoming a parent reshaped the way I think about success. As my career has grown alongside my family, I've realized that success isn't about having every answer or trying to do everything yourself. It's about knowing when to ask for help, trusting others and embracing different perspectives. Asking for support — whether at work or at home — allows me to show up fully in the moments that matter most.
What are you watching and reading right now?
Fiorini: I just finished Jeff Arcuri's Netflix special "Nice to Meet You" — always a good laugh and impressive how he can work the audience. Outside of that, I’m usually reading up on industry news and retail trends while Sesame Street or the Disney Channel plays in the background. :-)
What are your upcoming travel or leisure plans?
Fiorini: Every August, my family and I head to the Rhode Island coast for a one-week vacation before the school year starts again. With an 18-month-old and a 7-year-old, it's not all leisure. But it’s a fun mix of boogie boarding, hanging on the beach and if I’m lucky squeezing in a cocktail or two at my favorite martini spot with my husband.
