OfficeMax is touting two exclusive brands that it introduced late last month. The Divoga line, which was introduced in circulars as a "fashion-focused brand that rides the trend curve and brings a degree of style to ordinary office products," is merchandised on such themed endcaps as "Naturally Exotic," "Global Chic" and "Dressed Up Desktop." The line includes calendars, planners, file folders, legal pads, binders and message boards, all of various patterns and color schemes. A separate endcap is devoted to another new brand, Ascend, which consists of envelopes and other mailing products. The display sports the brand's green-brown-and-white color scheme and touts the product as helping office workers "Arrive in Style." Both brands were introduced in the chain's Sept. 28 circular under an "Exclusive Brands at OfficeMax" header. The circular's cover is dedicated to Breast Cancer Awareness Month, with the retailer proclaiming, "October is all about pink." The feature, as well as a counter mat at checkout, communicates the company's pledge to donate 5% of sales from pink office supply products (or a minimum of $50,000) to non-profit City of Hope. The promotion runs through Dec. 26. An upfront endcap in stores merchandises eligible pink-branded SKUs, including Sharpie highlighters, HP paper, Avery binders, 3M Post-it notes and a private-label Tul pen. The chain also promised to donate at least 1% of sales from furniture and technology items from Sept. 28 through Oct. 4.OfficeMax, Naperville, IL, operates 920 stores in the U.S.
