Whole Foods Market has opened its second smaller format store, this one in New York’s East Village.

The Whole Foods Market Daily Shop is a 10,000-square-foot store located at 409 E. 14th St., in the StuyTown development.

The shop includes a Juice & Java, which offers coffee, tea, juices, smoothies, sandwiches and desserts.

The store also includes more than 400 local SKUs from the Northeast.

The morning of the store’s opening, customers received complimentary coffee and breakfast bites. The first 300 in line also received a limited-edition tote bag.

Whole Foods opened its first Daily Shop last September, in New York’s Lenox Hill neighorhood in the Upper East Side.

"We are excited to join the StuyTown community. This store is unique and reflects the energy, diversity and culture of the neighborhood we serve," Christian Damaso, store team leader for Whole Foods Market Daily Shop, said in a news release. "We’ll be stocked with fresh, high-quality ingredients and prepared foods — whether they’re picking up coffee or a smoothie, grabbing lunch to-go, or doing their weekly grocery shop — we look forward to welcoming our customers into this new space."

Last month, Whole Foods Market announced a third Daily Shop format would open June 4 in New York’s Hell’s Kitchen neighborhood. Future locations are planned for Brooklyn’s Williamsburg neighborhood, and Hoboken, New Jersey.

Whole Foods Market has more than 530 stores in the U.S., Canada and United Kingdom.
