P2PI Launches Interactive Guide With Recommendations for BevAlc Product Detail Pages

The experience is an adaptation of P2PI’s previously published article and infographic outlining BACi’s “good, better, best” PDP framework.

The Path to Purchase Institute has launched an interactive version of the BevAlc Commerce Initiative’s (BACi) product detail page (PDP) recommendations, giving marketers a more dynamic way to explore best practices for optimizing beverage-alcohol product content online.

The guide is an adaptation of P2PI’s previously published article and infographic outlining BACi’s “good, better, best” PDP framework. Users can now click through PDP attributes and examples in a more visual, layered experience designed to reflect how shoppers encounter content on the digital shelf.

BACi’s PDP recommendations were developed collaboratively by digital leaders across the BevAlc ecosystem, with the goal of elevating product content in a category that continues to face regulatory and operational complexity online. The framework provides a practical roadmap for both brands and retailers, outlining foundational PDP elements as well as more advanced enhancements that can improve discovery, engagement and conversion.

Rather than just viewing a list, users can now interact with the "Good, Better, Best" tiers:

  • Good: The foundational baseline, focusing on essential attributes like clear titles, stock availability, and basic product descriptions.
  • Better: Enhancing the experience with key cocktails/recipes, social proof through reviews, and mobile-optimized descriptions.
  • Best: The gold standard of the digital shelf, featuring advanced hero images, mobile-optimized video, API-powered syndication and AI-driven personalization tools.

The launch builds on BACi’s broader mission to advance consumer-first commerce standards within the BevAlc category. Over the past year, the share group has focused on identifying areas where fragmented execution across the digital alcohol aisle creates friction for shoppers, and where shared best practices can help raise performance across the industry.

The interactive PDP recommendations are a free resource and are part of a growing set of digital tools and experiences designed to support industry education and collaboration.
