NACDS to Spotlight Pharmacy's Role in GLP-1 Patient Success at GLP-1 Shopper Summit
As GLP-1 medications reshape how consumers approach their health, nutrition and everyday purchases, pharmacies have an opportunity to play a greater role in supporting their needs. For retailers, that creates new connections between prescription care, wellness services and the products shoppers seek to support their health goals.
At the GLP-1 Shopper Summit, taking place Nov. 12 in Chicago, Chris Krese, senior vice president of congressional relations and communications at the National Association of Chain Drug Stores (NACDS), will share new findings and recommendations from NACDS and the Milken Institute during a newly added session, "Pharmacy Can Boost Patients' GLP-1 Success – Here’s the Plan."
The session will explore how pharmacies can help patients maximize the benefits of GLP-1 therapies and improve health outcomes. For retailers and consumer goods companies, the discussion comes as GLP-1 adoption influences shopper needs across nutrition, health and wellness categories, creating opportunities to better serve consumers throughout their health journeys.
Krese brings 30 years of experience in public policy, association leadership and strategic communications. At NACDS, he helps advance the industry's role as the "face of neighborhood healthcare," advocating for pharmacies and communicating their value to policymakers, retailers and suppliers.
Before joining NACDS, Krese held senior leadership roles at the National Restaurant Association and the American Frozen Food Institute. His background also includes experience on Capitol Hill, where he served as press secretary to Rep. Bill Clinger and as a legislative assistant for the House Education and Labor Committee.
