Ahold Delhaize, Giant Food, Weis Markets, Carrefour Execs Join GLP-1 Shopper Summit Lineup
The inaugural GLP-1 Shopper Summit, taking place Nov. 12 at the Hilton Chicago, has added retail executives from Ahold Delhaize USA, Giant Food, Weis Markets and Carrefour to a program focused on the intensifying competition to serve the full range of shoppers’ health and wellness needs.
The event is being produced by EnsembleIQ's portfolio of B2B media intelligence brands, including Progressive Grocer, the Path to Purchase Institute, Drug Store News, Store Brands, and Consumer Goods Technology.
The expanded agenda tackles the competitive questions raised by a fast-changing GLP-1 market: How are these consumers shopping, which categories will capture their spending and where should retailers and brands place their bets?
Sessions will examine:
- How purchasing behavior shifts during the first 90 days of GLP-1 use and beyond.
- The rise of intermittent users.
- Changes in trip missions, retailer preferences and category decisions.
- Emerging demand that remains underserved.
- The potential winners, losers and product swaps within the grocery basket.
- How retailers can serve the full health-and-wellness journey, not simply the prescription user.
- The opportunity to connect pharmacy, dietitians, loyalty, fresh food, meal solutions and digital tools.
- New store missions and trip patterns: smaller baskets, more frequent replenishment and health-led discovery.
- Merchandising the “last 10 feet” — shelf communication, cross-category adjacencies, sampling and guidance that simplify healthier choices.
- How CPG brands should rethink claims, packaging, education and shopper activation.
The conversation will move from insight to action, exploring what these changes mean for assortment, merchandising, reformulation and innovation. The summit will also address how store layouts, shelf placement, cross-category adjacencies, pharmacy, loyalty, digital tools and personalization can be reworked to win the evolving wellness shopper.
