West Coast retailer Erewhon, which has built a cult-like following in its Southern California market, may be crossing to another coast. According to a report in a digital newsletter called Feed Me that has since been picked up by several news services and social media platforms, a smaller-format Erewhon is tentatively planned for a members-only padel club in Manhattan.

The market inside the upscale club dedicated to racket sports will reportedly sell the smoothies for which Erewhon is locally famous in the L.A. area, along with other items. News of the possible expansion led to mixed reactions on social media, where some fans welcomed the chance to try the much-buzzed-about offerings and others questioned limited accessibility within the private facility.

Erewhon has not publicly commented on the reports about a presence in the padel club. However, the company confirmed on its Instagram page last week that it is launching an Erewhon Tonic Bar in New York City through Uber Eats and Postmates.

Recently, Erewhon unveiled its newest brick-and-mortar store in SoCal. The market at 1700 Rosecrans Avenue in Manhattan Beach welcomed customers in July and is now open from 7 a.m. to 10 a.m. daily, with more limited 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. hours for the tonic bar and café.

Los Angeles-based Erewhon is an independent family-owned Certified B Corp and Certified Organic retailer with 11 locations across Southern California.
