Comfort Colors Engages Festivalgoers Through Immersive Experience
Gildan Activewear's Comfort Colors put fans' own individuality front and center at Lollapalooza, the four-day annual music festival held July 30-Aug. 2 in Chicago's Grant Park.
As the music festival's official printwear supplier, the effort brought the brand to life for attendees through its Comfort Colors Studio, an immersive space designed to bring color, creativity and good vibes to the festival scene.
Festivalgoers were able to explore different colors of the brand's products in a uniquely personal way, first using the company's Aura Photo Booth to discover which signature Comfort Colors hue matched their energy and personality. The booth then transformed fans' individual aura into a colorful keepsake that they could take home with them.
Concert goers could also engage with the brand at the Comfort Colors' Shade Wall. By selecting a shade that caught their eye, fans could enter for the chance to unlock exclusive prizes, from collectible pins inspired by each day's artist lineup to custom, limited-edition airbrushed t-shirts, hats and bags.
"This experience was designed to demonstrate how apparel and accessories come together to create effortless, expressive looks inspired by music, creativity and individuality," Jean-François Bergeron, director of brand marketing at Montreal-based Gildan, said in a media release. "For our first time at Lollapalooza, the response blew us away — lines wrapped around the studio all weekend. Even in the rain, fans stuck it out because they didn’t want to miss their chance to be a part of it."
Visitors could also use the company's custom airbrushing techniques, rounding out the experiences Custom Colors used to help consumers celebrate self-expression and color with the brand's essentials.
The company shared its merchandise and wide-spread presence at the festival on its social platforms including Instagram, TikTok, Facebook and LinkedIn throughout the event.
The Comfort Colors Studio was designed to give fans another way to showcase their individuality and creativity while at the festival. By using color as a form of self-expression, the brand was able to connect with this subset of consumers in a meaningful way.
This was Comfort Colors' first year as a strategic partner of Lollapalooza, one of Live Nation’s flagship festivals. The company will continue to promote its premium blanks (garment-dyed cotton t-shirts, tanks and sweats) as a go-to for music experiences.
