Illuminated Displays or Signs

  • Hollywood Popcorn Machine Topper

    Client: Hollywood POP
Producer: Fiberoptic Lightning Inc.; Grants Pass, Ore.
Category: Motion, Light or Sound Sign
Comments: A fiberoptic header was chosen for this unit because of its implied motion and eye-catching effects. A four-color process screened face was produced directly on white styrene plastic. The face plate has a shelf attached to the back which holds the fiberoptic illuminator. The fiberoptic unit can be easily slid into place in the machine header.

  • Massage Lounger Display

    Client: Panasonic
Producer: Frank Mayer & Associates Inc.; Grafton, Wis.
Category: Interactive, Video or LCD Floorstand/Kiosk
Comments: The Shiatsu massage lounger is a high-ticket item that needs interactivity to motivate curious customers. The unit attracts attention with interesting and impulse-oriented graphics. Translite panels are changeable and computer-chip circuitry delivers three different messages.

  • Chi-Chi's Back Bar Display

    Client: Lardis, McCurdy & Barcham
Producer: Promotional Industries; East Hartford, Conn.
Category: Fabricated Plastic Counter, Shelf or Table Unit
Comments: Designers were challenged to illuminate the display with low lighting (conducive to bar settings) yet achieve "edge play" of light within the display. The use of fluorescent lighting combined with many edges of fluorescent acrylic achieved the desired appearance. Clear acrylic panels added strength and protected the display details without compromising the desired look.

  • Ice Draft Illuminated Bottle Glorifier

    Client: Anheuser-Busch Inc.
Producer: Advertising Display Co.; Englewood Cliffs, N.J.
Category: Motion, Light or Sound Counter, Shelf or Table Unit
Comments: Creating a dramatic showcase for the Ice Draft bottle, the ice-shard design provides a contemporary image. The large brand logo is backlit and the bottle is illuminated from the base by a quad of fluorescent light, located inside the base. The ice shards are molded of clear acrylic to reflect the light showcase the bottle.

  • Falcon Backbar Illuminated Sign

    Client: Falcon Beer - Sweden
    Producer: Everbrite; Greenfield, Wis.
    Category: Thermoformed Plastic Sign
Comments: By using textured plastic in conjunction with edge lighting, the sign creates a look of cold, running water. A single fluorescent tube lights the Falcon label, the edge, and the textured plastic. It also serves as a back light for the logo at the bottom of the sign.
