Kroger Opens Latest Marketplace Store
The Kroger Co. held the grand-opening celebration for its newest Kroger Marketplace store, in Fort Worth, Texas, on Friday, Oct. 31, starting at 6:00 a.m. Located at 113 East Bonds Ranch Road, Fort Worth, the new 123,000 square foot store represents an investment of $40 million in the community and will provide greater access to more than 35,000 fresh, affordable food and essential products, including 2,000-plus local Texas products. Additionally, 220 community members were hired to work in the supermarket.
The new Kroger Marketplace offers new and updated features such as modern decor, a Pax & Beneficia cafe, a Murray’s Cheese counter, an in-store pharmacy, an expanded general merchandise assortment, including home goods, apparel and toys, as well as a fuel center with 18 fueling positions and beverages and snacks available at a grab-and-go kiosk.
“With the nearest grocery stores nearly 4 miles away, this new Kroger Marketplace will deliver much-needed access and everyday convenience to the Bonds Ranch community,” noted Rudy DiPietro, president, Kroger’s Texas Division. “We are excited to open our doors and welcome our neighbors with Texas-sized savings in every aisle, friendly service and a store built with the heart of this community in mind.”
The first 230 shoppers at the Oct. 31 grand opening received special gifts and mementos. All shoppers could take advantage of a special weekly advertisement featuring exclusive savings for the store from Oct. 31 through Nov. 4, including 20 cents off per gallon at the store’s fuel center with a Kroger Rewards Card from Oct. 31 through Nov. 2.
The new store is the second new Marketplace format store that Kroger opened in 2025; the first was in Plano, Texas, this past January. The food retailer has also broken ground on three other Kroger Marketplace format stores this year in Anna, Little Elm and the Sendera Ranch neighborhood of North Fort Worth. All three are expected to open in 2026.
Cincinnati-based Kroger employs more than 400,000 associates who serve more than 11 million customers daily through an e-commerce and store experience under a variety of banner names.
