Comments: This manufacturer has developed a line of shoes that are motion-sensitive. An electronic chip needed to be designed so that the shoe could be activated by DC power on a self-activation timer. The display incorporates a vacuum-formed shell, printed with color graphics, that helps highlight the product's various lighting characteristics. Fiberoptic lighting is also used to simulate stars in the galaxy.

Comments: The purpose of this display was to stimulate impulse sales, enhance brand presence, and pay for itself within ninety days. The unit was unusual in that it effectively merchandised items that are typically kept under lock-and-key. This aspect helped increase retail placement. The display was also successful because it linked two well-known brands in the telecommunications industry, building consumer confidence.

Comments: This entry used a translucent polycarbonate material that created the illusion of the company's logo "floating" inside the riser. The space-efficient oval shape was selected to maximize retail counter space.
