For three days in May some of the best and brightest minds in retail media gathered at the Path to Purchase Institute’s Retail Media Summit at the Hyatt Regency O’Hare Chicago, in Rosemont, Illinois.

Since its launch in 2022, the event has been the top destination for industry innovators, and 2025’s RMS was no exception. Retailers, brands, agencies and solution providers delivered deep dives into the most important trends surrounding strategy, measurement, full-funnel tactics, shopper behavior, BevAlc, AI, emerging channels and even non-retailer-owned media networks, and where they fit into the world of commerce marketing.

As part of the event, the 2025 Retail Media Award winners were honored for their role in advancing connected commerce, with the ceremony and reception sponsored by Walgreens Advertising Group. 

The event officially kicked off with P2PI’s CONNECT Hosted Buyer Program, which offered participants to be matched in curated meetups.

The P2PI Retail Media Guild also convened during the event for workshopping, networking, education and lunch. The group dove into such themes as building retailer-specific media strategies, ID-ing the most critical data points for solving measurement challenges, and working cross-functionally to ensure the right data is informing campaigns. 

P2PI is in the process of planning 2026’s Retail Media Summit, returning to Chicago on June 2-4.
