Comments: This display had to provide both a visual and voice demonstration of a new motorized version of the toy. The key was to give enough information about the toy so that customers wouldn't feel compelled to open packages. The model is displayed in a protective case that shows the movement of gears and accessories. This display helped increase sales of the Gears product line by 150%. What's more, 250 new stores took on a Gears display for the first time.

  • Camp Chef Hanging P-O-P Booklet

    Kinara Inc./Dutro
    Dutro - Edward Quinlan
Comments: Because several of this marketer's key retail accounts refuse to set up special displays, a point-of-purchase hanging booklet was seen as a low-cost alternative. The booklet's size was important because it had to fit easily on the front of the cooker without requiring expensive die cuts or papers. In less than six months, outdoor stove sales increased by 20% and accessory sales increased by 30%.

  • Barney School Bus

    Lyrick Studios
Comments: The "Let's Play School" display was designed to introduce a new video in mass merchants and specialty stores. Flexibility was needed, and this unit can accommodate 18,24, 36 or 48 counts of video product. Removable pockets and plastic hooks enable it to also offer audiotapes, stuffed toys and DVDs. Still, the unit was designed to fit in a shipper under 84 inches in girth. More than 14,000 units were sold in, doubling company projections.
