  • Gnarly Head Wine Floorstand

    "Here's an instance where I think the intent was right, but the display was lacking in the final effect. Gnarly Head wine -- from its unusual name to the bottle labels -- is trying to suggest the ancient vines that produce superior grapes and thus fine wines. From a distance, it does have the right look. But up close, the wooden display is just too flat, smooth and "finished" to truly convey this effect. I wanted to see distressed, knotty, twisted wood with a variety of tones. Perhaps some kind of molded resin or plastic would have created a more realistic look."

    "I've been very pleased with some wineries' recent use of style and flair on their displays. This floor display from Snap Dragon has a number of elements that take it a notch above the ordinary. The black metal base is exceptionally well done, starting with the way it presents the bottles to shoppers via the angled wire supports. The curved front uses die-cut letters with a bright back card that makes the Snap Dragon name pop and creates a tabletop to showcase the wines merchandised below. Add in the metal header with the screened brand name and logo and you've got a complete package."
