Albertsons
The grocer has launched Celebrations, a digital destination, on its banners' websites and apps. Shoppers can use it to plan birthdays, baby showers, holiday celebrations and more. An AI shopping assistant is on hand to offer inspiration and advice.
BJ's Wholesale Club
The retailer recently opened its second BJ's Market, a smaller format store that runs about half the size of a typical BJ's Wholesale Club and is designed to expedite the grocery shopping experience for busy customers. It's also begun adding interactive screens to the alcohol departments of some locations, placed to inspire shoppers and encourage discovery.
PetSmart
The retailer has kicked off "Cheating," an effort designed to keep pet parents from straying to other retailers. Customers can enter an online sweepstakes or visit a participating PetSmart on Feb. 21 (National Breakup Day) with a competitor's autoship box for a chance to win a year of PetSmart Autoship.
Target
Target is giving its beauty department a makeover, with refreshed layouts and displays. More K-beauty, affordable prestige, skincare and haircare are landing in aisles and online.
Walmart
Walmart recently opened a supercenter in Jacksonville, Florida, with a more open layout; more digital touchpoints; expanded home, apparel and grocery offerings; and a greater focus on local products.
