  • Captain Morgan Haunted House Pole Topper

Client: IMS for Diageo, Stamford, Conn.
Producer: Rapid Displays, Chicago and Union City, Calif.
Comments: The doors on this house opened to reveal an Elvis lookalike partying inside. Note the door knockers, which are replicas of Captain Morgan himself. The pole topper was designed to ship 95% pre-assembled so retailers could set it up in fewer than five minutes. More than 1,070 units were produced.

  • Mission Foods Disneyland Sweeps Floorstand

This corrugated display for Irving, Texas-based Mission Foods promoted both tortillas and the chance to win a trip for four to Disneyland. Atop the unit was a lenticular panel on which lightning bolts "flashed." This corrugated display was originally placed in stores in May, but it was fitted with new header and side graphics for the Halloween promotion.
Producer: Rapid Displays, Chicago and Union City, Calif., produced 5,425 merchandisers.

Comments: In the Bass off-premise bag of tricks was this standee, launched for the year's second-biggest beer-drinking day. Other pieces included base wraps, case cards, cooler stickers and inflatable bats. T-shirts and banners were sent to on-premise locations.

  • Hershey's Halloween Hang Out Pole Topper

Kid-friendly graphics were plentiful on this 3-D header. Hershey's and Reese's branding figured prominently -- logos appeared on the house, on jack-o-lanterns and even on the bags carried by the trick-or-treaters.
Producer: Rapid Displays, Chicago and Union City, Calif.

  • Coors Light Halloween Motion Display

When a customer approached this display, a motion sensor activated a battery-powered motor. The lid opened, and a monster hand emerged with a Coors Light (like "Thing" from "The Addams Family" television show). The lid closed after a few seconds and reopened for the next unsuspecting customer.
Producer: Crew Design, Kent, Conn., produced nearly 3,015 units
