Comments: The challenge was to demonstrate a new personal communications product in a theft-resistant way. A vacuum-formed, oversized replica of the product serves as a countertop display base. The base has a routed opening for a rear-illuminated transparency. A special bracket and shelf allow access to the product for adjustment, yet it cannot be tampered with by customers.

Comments: The client needed a merchandiser to showcase books side by side. The wood and acrylic unit is sturdy and allows product visibility. It displays up to 350 books of various sizes on all four sides of the unit. The five-tiered boutique also provides up to 34 face-out areas.

Comments: The display shape identifies the product area and manufacturer. The unusual size attracts curious customers. The display was constructed of standard construction-size PVC pipe. No tooling was involved. A custom-designed circuit board controls all functions: display screen sequencing, calculations, timing and voltage regulation.
