Immertia Launches Holographic Packaging Concept
Displai is the second platform for Immertia, following the successful release of Swigr, a similar concept for the alcoholic beverages (BevAlc) industry. The platform uses virtual technology to attach digital content to physical objects, which consumers view by scanning the packaging with their smartphone.
Displai also powered Immertia’s hyper-realistic AR overlay concept that launched in 2022. That can present brand information, animate packaging, add clickable links, holograms and other features. The concept is similar to Facebook or Snapchat filters, which enables users to change the appearance of their faces, overlaying an augmented reality mask.
"Product packaging provides an ideal stage for brands to communicate with their customers,” Dave Chaffey, partner and managing director of Immertia, said in the release. “And for consumers, it's an intuitive solution that makes sense. [Consumers can] find out anything [they] need by scanning the product.”
Displai's advanced image recognition system allows brands to implement the solution across their entire product lines instantly, without making any changes to the packaging's design, artwork or layout, per the release.
The Hologram Concierge technology is available now and is currently rolling out to packaging manufacturers, marketing agencies and CPG brands.
“[The Hologram Concierge] is a game-changer for the packaging industry and offers an opportunity for brands to differentiate themselves in a competitive market,” Chaffey added.
Chaffey says Immertia is currently working on the next phase of development: a realistic human holographic concierge and its ability to answer product-related questions from consumers in real-time.
