Spring Cleaning Shopper Trends
Over half of shoppers indicate they will spend more than $20 on supplies for spring cleaning this year, according to Breaktime Media.
Breaktime surveyed 1,046 shoppers about the annual occasion, including which factor is most important for cleaning supplies and where they’re buying the products. Walmart is most preferred place for survey respondents to go for supplies, followed by grocery stores and Target.
When choosing key factors for cleaning supplies, 45% selected effectiveness of the products, 18% picked cost, 13% said ease of use and 10% picked clean ingredients.
Breaktime Media shared the following best practices for marketers to reach shoppers this season:
- Educate shoppers on the effectiveness of your cleaning products for their needs through a fun quiz with personalized product offerings.
- Amplify a special “spring cleaning” offer to help convert the 18% of shoppers who stated price as their purchase driver to inspire trial.
- Engage shoppers with a giveaway for a chance to win your brand’s products.
- Use a receipt upload to reward consumers who purchase your products for their spring cleaning needs.
