Mtn Dew, Circle K Unveil Summer Tour Celebrating Exclusive Flavor
PepsiCo and Circle K are tripling down on their partnership around Mtn Dew Purple Thunder by further celebrating the one-year anniversary of the convenience store chain exclusively carrying the flavor with a summer tour around the U.S.
The partners will kick off a 33-stop “Thunderversary tour” on May 3 with a decked out Purple Thunder trailer bringing free food and drinks, photo opportunities, games, prizes, live music, entertainment and other in-store offers to Circle K. The tour starts in Cleveland and will travel for 13 weeks, concluding on July 25 in Eustis, Florida.
The summer festivities will continue on social media with Circle K inviting users on Twitter and Instagram to enter a giveaway for Purple Thunder summer swag, including beach towels, chairs and pool floats, coolers and swimsuits. To enter, users must share or comment on Circle K’s Thundersersary giveaway posts by June 5.
“Dew Nation’s enthusiasm for Mtn Dew Purple Thunder has been tremendous,” Hugh Roth, chief customer and business development officer at PepsiCo global foodservice said in a media release. “Together with Circle K, we wanted to match their enthusiasm and celebrate its first year in a big way by bringing an unforgettable experience to Mtn Dew Purple Thunder fans across the country.”
Earlier this year, the partners celebrated one year of Mtn Dew Purple Thunder— which debuted in April 2022 as a flavor for Circle K's Polar Pop fountain drink before rolling out in 20-ounce bottles at the c-store in May 2022 — by expanding the exclusive berry and plum flavor to the retailer's Froster frozen beverage lineup.

Additionally, a limited-edition color-changing Purple Thunder cup is available in stores for $5.99 with a free refill with purchase.
“We take pride in knowing that Circle K is the official destination of Mtn Dew Purple Thunder and want to invite our customers to join in the celebration,” Sophie Provencher, senior vice president global merchandising at Circle K, said in the release.
