Albertsons Simplifies Private Label

The grocer revealed plans to consolidate its Signature private label offerings under one master brand. Signature Select boasts a new look and a campaign heralding its arrival.

Dollar General Eyes Growth

The retailer has created a new role for a member of its leadership team. His focus will be on growth and emerging markets. 

Instacart Tests ‘Favorite’ Feature 

Instacart is piloting a new option that allows customers to designate shoppers as “favorites” and select them to fulfill orders.

Meijer Strikes a Deal

The retailer has a multiyear partnership to add its brand to the jerseys of Major League Baseball’s Detroit Tigers. They’re also collaborating on a new “Striking Out Hunger” effort, where they’ll donate to charity each time a Tigers pitcher strikes out an opposing player.

Lowe’s Rural Push 

The home improvement retailer is adding more farm and ranch merchandise to its stores in select rural markets.
