Crayola, Kohl's Launch Colorful Merchandise Collection
Crayola and department store chain Kohl's have joined forces to launch their first limited-edition merchandise collection, “Crayola x Kohl's.” It will be available to everyone exclusively at the retailer and on Kohls.com on Oct. 2, after Kohl’s rewards members get early access to the collection from Sept. 29-Oct. 1.
The line features vibrant and creative merchandise across several categories including fashion/apparel, accessories, gifts, impulse buys and home decor, according to a media release. Products include matching pajama sets for the family, a vibrant Jetson scooter, Crayola-inspired squishy pillows, 64-count crayon cases, an adult blanket scarf adorned with Crayola's signature hues and tabletop decor, among others.
In addition, select items in the Kohl’s collection are extensions of Crayola’s “Colors of Kindness” line, which launched amid the pandemic as just a 24-count box of crayons, including four new colors and 20 renamed after kindness attributes to help teach kids about emotional intelligence and positive self-talk.
The line/campaign has continued to grow since then, adding coloring books as well as other consumer products through licensing agreements. In August, Crayola worked with Zumba to launch an exclusive 40-piece Colors of Kindness apparel and accessories collection inspired by the brand’s iconic crayon colors.
For the Crayola x Kohl’s collection, the partners are launching home decor and gifts for the holidays, such as scented candles and a Crayola camper mug, inspired by Crayola’s Colors of Kindness initiative.
"Crayola's collaboration with Kohl's will capture all the joy and excitement in retail this holiday season,” Warren Schorr, Crayola senior vice president, business development, global licensing and experiences, said in the release. “The robust ensemble of merchandise will bring celebrations and traditions to colorful life with unexpected products that will surprise and delight. The Crayola x Kohl's collection empowers kids and adults alike to express themselves through gift giving in bright colors and kind sentiments — including every shade of happy."
Kohl’s is already teasing the limited-time collection on its website and social media channels, using the opportunity to also plug its rewards program for early access.
