About 60% of shoppers spend $20 or less on cleaning supplies per month, according to Breaktime Media.
Breaktime surveyed shoppers on their spring cleaning habits — including how often they tidy up to their most-purchased cleaning products.
Almost half of respondents indicated they purchase multi-surface cleaners the most. Bathroom cleaner was second with 15% and disinfecting wipes came in third with 12%.
The bathroom was the top spot at home where shoppers prioritize deep cleaning. After bathrooms at 31%, survey takers chose the kitchen at 28% and the living room at 5%.
Shoppers most prefer to purchase their cleaning supplies at Walmart (29%) and grocery stores (28%). They are followed by warehouse/club stores at 11% and Target with 10% of survey responses.
Product effectiveness is the most important factor that influences shoppers when choosing cleaning products. Price follows with 19% of respondents while trust in the brand had 13%.
