Giant Eagle Adds In-Store Audio Ad Content

The regional grocer's retailer media network has partnered with Stingray to launch contextual, audio-enabled advertising tactics across 194 stores across.

Giant Eagle’s retailer media network, Leap Media Group, is growing its in-store ad solutions through a new partnership with Montreal-based music, video and advertising tech company Stingray.

By joining Stingray’s Retail Audio Advertising Network, Leap advertisers gain access to contextual, audio-enabled advertising tactics applicable to 194 Giant Eagle stores across western Pennsylvania, Ohio, northern West Virginia, Maryland and Indiana.

The audio solutions are designed to enable marketers to engage with “high-intent” shoppers while personalizing their shopping experience in a “privacy conscious way,” according to a media release.

The partnership also gives brand partners another opportunity to promote new products, savings/discounts or other value propositions to shoppers beyond the e-commerce environment and during their in-store shopping journey. 

“This partnership will enable Leap users to provide impactful, personalized audio advertising to customers while in-store,” Joell Robinson, Giant Eagle senior director, Leap Media and sales, said in the release. “Helping our brand partners provide value to customers through exceptional, seamless shopping experiences is a priority for Leap, and we’re looking forward to adding Stingray’s solutions to enhance our capabilities.”

In June 2023, Giant Eagle formally launched Leap Media Group, encompassing the regional grocery retailer’s online properties, mobile apps and more than 470 stores.

Stingray operates a large North American retail audio advertising network, with more than 800 million monthly shopping visits across 23,600 grocery, superstore, pharmacy and discount store locations, according to the company. In July 2023, Stingray and Mood Media’s in-store digital advertising provider, Vibenomics, agreed to combine their respective networks to create an in-store retail media network for the U.S.
