T&T Supermarkets, a Canadian Asian grocery chain, has opened a new location at the CF Fairview Mall in Toronto as part of an $80 million revitalization project by the mall’s owners/investment company, Cadillac Fairview.
The store, which opened in a space previously occupied by Sears, is the “first of its kind” in Ontario to offer Asian street food — including customer favorites like the Chinese Crepe, a savory beef wrap — as well as a walk-up counter for mall patrons to order easily, according to a news release.
The 36,000-square-foot location also offers T&T’s full range of products, including Asian snacks, produce, live seafood, bakery, skincare, gifts and in-store prepared foods as well as the retailer's collection of more than 400 private-label products.
"T&T is proud to bring an entirely new food experience to Fairview Mall," Tina Lee, CEO of T&T Supermarkets, said in the release. "Together with Cadillac Fairview, we've been working hard for over four years to bring this vision to life, turning unused space into a culinary destination that will draw food lovers from all across the region."
As part of the grand opening celebrations, which kicked off on May 18, T&T offered multiple promotional deals throughout the week. T&T members who use the retailer’s mobile app could access exclusive offers from neighboring businesses, including Fuwa Fuwa, Hazukido, Xing Fu Tang Bubble Tea and Hana Don, through May 22.
