7-Eleven Fuels Football, Soccer Fans

7-Eleven put a new spin on the “Fuel Your Fandom” campaign it ran during the 2021 football season with a “Fuel Your Football” sweepstakes and purchase incentive this fall that incorporates both American football and soccer. Shoppers enter from Sept. 7 through Jan. 10, 2023, by using the mobile apps or loyalty cards for 7-Eleven or Speedway to purchase a qualifying product from participating brands, including Mars Inc.’s Snickers, Keurig Dr Pepper's Dr Pepper, Kraft Heinz’s Oscar Mayer, Nutrabolt’s C4, and PepsiCo/Frito-Lay’s Gatorade, Pepsi and Lay's. Two grand-prize winners will receive an 11-day trip to attend seven to-be-determined regular season football or soccer games in the U.S. in 2023. The sweeps also awards 73 "homegating" prize packages, including a 65-inch LED 4K smart TV, a 7-Eleven- or Speedway-branded pop-up canopy tent, and a $100 Hulu gift card. Orlando, Florida-based Creative Zing handles the sweeps. "7-Eleven is proud to provide our customers with the highest level of convenience as they fuel up for all their tailgate, game and celebration needs,” Marissa Jarratt, 7-Eleven's chief marketing officer, said in a media release. “We hope these exclusive prizes give football, soccer and all sports fans another reason to celebrate this fall as they cheer on their favorite teams." Stores are also selling Fuel Your Football soccer- and football-themed Big Gulp cups along with koozies that resemble turf. The first 200,000 shoppers who buy one using their app or rewards card from Sept. 7 through March 15, 2023, will receive 250 bonus 7Rewards or Speedy Rewards points. A Fuel Your Football collection sold through 7-ElevenShop.com comprises a branded speaker, folding chair, cornhole set, football and soccer ball priced at $30-$125. The full line is included in the homegating package. In stores, cooler clings and shelf tags plug the sweeps and eligible SKUs from PepsiCo, Red Bull, Jack Link’s and Nestle’s Essentia Water. The shelf tags use QR codes to encourage shoppers to download the 7-Eleven app. A leaderboard ad on 7-Eleven.com and Facebook updates support the effort.
