Best Buy and Ikea U.S. are joining forces on a pilot that will bring a co-branded kitchen and laundry room shopping experience to 10 Best Buy stores this fall — marking the first time Ikea products and services will be accessible through another U.S. retailer.

The cross-brand partnership will allow shoppers in select Florida and Texas markets to explore curated kitchen and storage setups that blend Best Buy’s assortment of major appliances with Ikea’s home furnishings. Each 1,000-square-foot shop-in-shop will showcase full-room vignettes and offer hands-on planning support from both Best Buy and Ikea employees.

The collaboration reflects both retailers' efforts to create more immersive and convenient shopping experiences across categories. Best Buy brings appliance expertise and tech integration, while Ikea provides design inspiration and modular home solutions.

"When you're shopping for new electronics, whether it's a laptop or a TV or a washing machine, it's important to understand the technology and make a decision based on how it will help you, your family and your home," Patrick McGinnis, chief merchandising officer at Best Buy, said in a media release. "With this partnership, we get to combine technology and design and show shoppers what's truly possible in their home like never before."

The pilot will launch in the following Best Buy locations:

  • Boynton Beach, Florida
  • Daytona Beach, Florida
  • Lakeland, Florida
  • Melbourne, Florida
  • Waterford Lakes, Florida
  • Alamo Ranch, Texas
  • Hulen, Texas
  • Humble, Texas
  • Mesquite, Texas
  • South Austin, Texas

Additionally, two stores — Lakeland, Florida and Alamo Ranch, Texas — will also serve as free Ikea pick-up points for most online orders via Ikea.com or in-store purchases at the Ikea x Best Buy experience.

Ikea's U.S. Chief Operating Officer Rob Olson said the partnership is "about making great design and functionality more accessible for the many." He added, "We're creating a one-stop destination where customers can design their dream kitchen, storage solutions or laundry space with ease."

This pilot comes amid increasing pressure on retailers to offer turnkey solutions and personalized support across multiple product categories, especially for big-ticket purchases tied to home improvement.
