Pringles Spices Up ‘Hot Ones’ Launch at Circle K, Walmart

Kellogg Co.’s Pringles gave exclusive SKUs to Walmart and Circle K as part of the launch of a limited-edition line of Scorchin’ crisps based on chicken wing sauces from First We Feast’s "Hot Ones" YouTube show. The Pringles Scorchin’ Hot Ones "Los Calientes Verdes" flavor launched at retailers nationwide in June, with a "Los Calientes Rojo" version releasing that month exclusively at Walmart. Circle K received a Hot Ones "The Classic Hot Sauce" flavor in July. At Circle K stores, a wobbler affixed to a rack merchandising the exclusive Classic Hot Sauce-flavored crisps along with other Pringles products promote the flavor as “only at Circle K.” Facebook and Twitter updates from "Hot Ones" and Circle K promote the flavor's launch. Pringles is also plugging the new SKUs with a sweepstakes running June 10 through Sept. 30 that awards 50 winners a family-friendly expansion to Wilder Toys’ Hot Ones Truth or Dab: The Game. One hundred winners will receive a pack of hot sauces, including a limited-edition one made using Pringles, plus a selection of cards from the game and a pair of nitrile gloves meant to handle the hot wings. On-pack QR codes link to the entry page at HotOnes.Pringles.com. "Our partnership with 'Hot Ones' is a match made in spicy heaven, so we're thrilled to collaborate with the show known to test your limits with hot questions and even hotter wing sauce," Mauricio Jenkins, Pringles senior director of marketing, said in a media release. "We challenged ourselves to perfectly match the fiery burn of Hot Ones wing sauce to create our spiciest flavors yet. The debut of the Pringles Scorchin' Hot Ones lineup will have fans sweating just like their favorite celeb guests on the show." The Pringles collaboration follows the February release of limited-edition frozen Hot Ones Boneless Chicken Bites exclusively at Walmart. A Feb. 3 Facebook post from "Hot Ones" plugged the SKU, which was manufactured by John Soules Foods.
